Story
La femme de Rose Hill follows Julie, a young woman from Mauritius who travels to rural Switzerland to marry her older pen-friend Marcel. Initially unhappy in her new life and marriage, Julie finds solace and romance when she meets Jean, a younger local man. However, their relationship faces opposition from Jean's disapproving father.
Summary
Directed by Alain Tanner, La femme de Rose Hill is a drama that explores themes of cultural displacement, youthful restlessness, and forbidden love. The story unfolds in the picturesque yet potentially isolating landscapes of rural Switzerland, contrasting with Julie's Mauritian origins.
