Upon graduating from high school, best friends Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Jay Cartwright and Neil Sutherland decide to go on a two-week holiday to Crete's Malia as a final hurrah before they move onto their respective university paths. The vacation starts off disastrously with each of them facing unique challenges: Simon struggles to get over his ex-girlfriend Carli, Neil grapples with the definition of cheating while in a relationship, Jay seeks respect from his peers despite his inheritance money, and Will tries to maintain some level of culture amidst their antics. They soon meet four British girls who they spend much of their time with due to circumstance: Alison (Will), Lucy (Simon), Jane (Jay) and Lisa (Neil). The guys strive to secure tickets for the island's infamous all-day boat cruise, seen as the ultimate party experience where they hope their dreams will come true.
