Story

Charlotte Lockton, a wealthy Englishwoman living in New Zealand during the 1860s gold rush era, faces an unimaginable nightmare when her baby son is kidnapped. Despite being from an upper-class background and unaccustomed to life outside of her comfort zone, Charlotte embarks on a perilous journey to find her child. Along the way, she encounters a diverse cast of characters, including hustlers, prostitutes, Maori warriors, and Chinese miners, who aid her in navigating this untamed world. As she journeys deeper into this unruly territory, Charlotte discovers her inner strength and resilience, transforming herself into someone she barely recognizes by the time she confronts the person responsible for her son's abduction.
