Raised in various neighborhoods of New York, including the Lower East Side and Brooklyn, she is of a diverse heritage, including Sicilian, Italian, Puerto Rican, Dominican, Spanish, and Taino Native American. Jimenez attended both the Professional Performing Arts School and the SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory before establishing a career in Los Angeles. She has appeared in several notable television series such as Days of Our Lives (as Gabi Hernandez), NCIS, The Newsroom, Pretty Little Liars, and Banshee, where she initially appeared under her maiden name.
