Full Biography
Paulina Gaitán Ruíz is a prominent Mexican actress and producer born on February 19, 1992, in Mexico City. Having started her acting career at the age of nine, she has developed into one of Latin America's most versatile talents, successfully bridging the gap between independent cinema and major global streaming hits.
Gaitán gained international acclaim for her role as Sayra in the award-winning 2009 film Sin Nombre, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, and for her portrayal of Adriana in the human trafficking drama Trade (2007). To global television audiences, she is perhaps best recognized for her role as Tata Escobar, the wife of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, in the Netflix hit series Narcos. Her ability to portray complex, emotionally driven characters led her to star as Violetta in Amazon Prime’s Diablo Guardián, the first Mexican original series for the platform.
